What message does the New Moon have for us?
Spirit Guide: Kali
For the first time I didn’t need an oracle card to write the Lunascope tonight, Goddess Kali made herself known through sudden hail on the tin roof of my house, thunder and lightning providing her soundtrack as I rolled around in happy baby pose on my yoga mat. She showed me that we can use this new moon to come down in to our bodies, and that her powers are available to us whether we need to soften or suit up (both Taurus traits!). Kali is a maternal archetype, a fierce mother bear who is willing to go into battle for what she protects, including you! Kali is also soft, sensual and in touch with her inner Aphrodite, the purrrfect Goddess to roll around with under this Taurus new moon.
Taurus is a sensual sign ruled by Venus, and tonight’s moon directs our artist vision towards that which we’re building, towards what makes us feel pleased, providing the energetic support to lay down firm foundations created by daily habits rooted in dynamic self-care. Your inner beauty routine thrives under this type of moon, urging you to play with making your space feel sacred, knowing that it is safe to come down fully in to your physical self, the realm where Kali’s instincts can run through you.
The feels are weird and intensity is high, so why not squat down in to Goddess pose, stick your tongue out and imagine that your skin is blue. Embody Kali in the morning and carry her energy with you throughout the rest of your day, imagining yourself squatting over any decisions that need to be made, feeling their answers inside of your body from the root up. Meowww.
To further tune in to Earthy Taurus you can practice a grounding ritual. You can do this anywhere, anytime, especially helpful if you notice that you’re dancing around your edges. Close your eyes. See if you can feel your breath. Breathe a little bit deeper and tune in the feeling at the tips of your nostrils. Stay here for a while. Notice how you feel. When you’ve completed 5-10 cycles of breath allow your awareness to focus on what you can hear, what you can taste, what you can smell and what you can feel inside of your body. Do this as slowly as you can, beginning with 5 things for each sense, gradually decreasing until your focus is on one sound, one flavor, one scent and one sensation. Become grounded and heavy, allowing your aura to take up space, just like a bull.
Use the stillness of the next few days to feel in to your desires, allowing this cycle’s intention to manifest first inside of your imagination, then releasing it onto the page, making is visible, a thing. The current feels are ripe for planting the revised and edited plans that all of the planetary retrogrades have helped us cultivate—it’s time to get your hands dirty! Move with grace knowing that you are being guided by Kali and remember that your thoughts and words carry the same intensity and energetic power as nature. You are the Big Bang, live with moxy!
